decided to give dreamwidth a shot and start it off by sharing things because i am a sharer. of things. inspired by my mutuals whom i am a very big fan of and frequently tune in to

RECENT MUSIC
  • slugs by slow pulp
  • falling apart by slow pulp
  • some are lakes by land of talk
    • "but i've got your bovine eyes / and i'll love you like i love you when i die" do u even see this....
  • soup by remi wolf
  • open my door by alice phoebe lou
    • "i used to open my door / to pretty much anyone who was tryna look for a place to feel safe / but i made my whole world safer for everyone but me" psychic damage x1000
  • into you by n.flying
i must admit that romance: untold is sonically not my thing but i am incredibly happy for the boys and their musical achievements. but i like to think it'll grow on me like manifesto did! if i had to choose a track, i think it'd be either royalty or moonstruck ^__^ i greatly enjoyed memorabilia though...

BOOKS
currently reading:
  • fight club
  • american psycho
  • protest, power, and pride in the history of queer liberation
i am open to recs by the way......... i totally do not have an entire shelf of pristinely bought books waiting to be read.. not at all

WIPS
writer's block has been insane since may, but i have rediscovered the joy of reading after discovering + plowing through interactive fiction games and visual novels LOL i've probably played over 20 now (if you want recs, let me know.. i would be so happy to discuss them with anyone...) granted most of them are incomplete so they're quick playthroughs, but they reminded me how fun it is to just create. and inspired me to continue particular wips that require 1) a lot of worldbuilding, 2) a lot of historical/political/royal jargon and knowledge that i know nothing about, 3) massive plot, or 4) all of the above

jayhoon vampire au
this has been immensely challenging to tackle but also super fun. this jormungandr might never see the light but i am strangely ambitious about this. i've been laughing at the thought of putting "cw: bad jungwon" in the author's notes... the foundation of the fic is very much still bare and brittle, but basically some intentions i have for this is: friends-to-enemies 02z (specifically jake vs. jayhoon) + codependent jaywon + jay's constant internal plight of choosing between duty/obligation and the closest thing to love and autonomy

Sunghoon's voice lowered to something—thoughtful. Uncomfortably soft. “Jay might look tough, but he’s actually pretty defenseless and can’t be left alone. You should give him a chance.”

jayhoon estranged childhood friends + character study (?)
sunghoon is a competitive figure skater forced into retirement and jay was a chef. yes, past tense, because he's dead

Sunghoon communicated like a landmine when he was under a mountain load of stress, and he’s been under that mountain since he was old enough to forfeit his agency. And he’ll never be old enough to reclaim it. And Jay didn’t know how to handle all that shrapnel, how to stomach the sight of his best friend being flattened by the world but to accept this distorted evolution as part and parcel of a child star.

wonki plant/eco horror post-apocalypse au
this has been plaguing me for months because it is also supremely above my skill level. currently at 10k but sooo many plot inconsistencies that i have to scrap and rewrite.. not sure what direction i want to take because i was subsequently inspired by trevor henderson's the giants so now i'm conflicted about, well. the conflict. besides the obvious forces of nature trying to kill them

“You came back for us,” Riki said.

He was staring at Jungwon with acute intensity. Blood ran sluggishly down his bruised cheek from the gash on his temple. The squabble on the side quieted down and suddenly Jungwon found himself at the misfortune of everyone's attention.

"No," Jungwon said. "Not for all of you."

wonki urban fantasy
sigh. worldbuilding... fae research... lots of research.. the only 100% thing i'm sure about this fic is the ending

Jungwon swallows three times to get rid of the nauseating dryness in his throat and forces himself to look up at his assailant. The only thing that stands out about him is the concerning amount of silver jewelry on his person that should've burned a hole through Jungwon's stomach the moment his rings made contact. Otherwise, his veil is rather nondescript, face cold and angular like a warrior's.

Their eyes meet. Any dredge of panic left in Jungwon is drained, the pain giving way to shocking clarity. Now, he's just pissed off.

"Fuck you," Jungwon snarls.

Riki doesn’t react, save for the disinterested tilt of his head. “Since when did Jay get a pet? I thought he was against the King’s hobby.”

agony. pain. but can you tell i'm excited about writing though.... i enjoy writing so much!!!

LIFE UPDATES
all i can think about is that one tweet that was about doing something mundane instead of "maximizing revenue" and, well. i am doing exactly that. please do not talk to me about stocks or investments or the future. i bought a strawberry capybara keychain the other day and named it strawpapa. thank you for reading

hellooo hope u don't mind me commenting, but ty for sharing ur stuff! can't wait to see ur future posts here

ur song recs are lovely, the open my door lyric has pierced through my heart </3 as for books, i'd like to recommend stuff but it would be disingenuous because i've been struggling to read through them completely... where is time going... but, the sympathizer + notes on an execution have been quite eye opening! but omg what are ur visual novels recs (has been obsessed with them for a couple of years now)! ur wips sound sooo good. rooting for ur writing + research adventure! huge sucker for a good childhood friend story... the premise of ur eco horror snippet sort of reminds me of kim choyup's works. she has two books exploring the 'nature killing humans' theme. hmu if u ever wanna talk about them! wishing u the best of luck w ur stonks and gotta say strawpapa is such a cute name x
